We are thrilled to announce that our esteemed project ‘The Wren Hotel’ has been presented the ‘Leisure or Tourism over €10M’ award at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2022.

The Wren Hotel makes the most of its tight urban site offering 137 compact and luxurious bedrooms in the heart of Dublin. The small format hotel nestles sensitively into its context at Andrew’s Lane.

Eliminating the need for fossil fuels, the building uses 100% renewable energy and is the first hotel in Ireland to comply with the World Green Building Council’s definition of Net Zero Operational Carbon, without having to purchase carbon offsets.

The architectural design meets the demands of a tight urban space whilst ensuring glazing and façade options reduce energy loss. The building services we installed only seek to provide the most sustainable methods of staying in and managing a hotel. Everything related to the design and operation of Wren Urban Nest aims to reduce, reuse, or recycle energy in the most efficient way. It really is a great example of what can be achieved in the hospitality industry and in major conurbations.

First and foremost, we would like to thank our team, without them it would not be possible to deliver such significant projects. We would also like to thank the design teams involved, suppliers, subcontractors and all stakeholders that contributed to the project throughout the various stages of the build.

A special thank you and well done to the ICE Awards coordinators for again delivering a wonderful night of unity and celebration. It was fantastic to come out from behind the screens and meet in person again to recognise industry excellence.
