Irish Stock Exchange

Duggan Brothers successfully delivered the expansion of the Irish Stock Exchange (Euronext) headquarters, unifying the historic Armoury building on Foster Place with the existing premises on Anglesea Street to form a single integrated campus. The development seamlessly blends heritage architecture with a striking contemporary addition, creating a landmark corporate headquarters in the heart of Dublin.

The project involved the demolition of non-original structures, sensitive conservation and restoration of the existing historic buildings, and the construction of a new five-storey, state-of-the-art office building. This new structure forms a physical and visual link between the two previously separate buildings, uniting old and new with a design that is both respectful and bold.

Central to the project is a light-filled atrium that mediates between the restored Armoury building and the new open-plan office space. This atrium reveals a carefully conserved cut limestone wall featuring arched openings that had been concealed during earlier extensions—now fully reinstated as a focal point within the new internal space.

The new building showcases exceptional craftsmanship and materials, including fair-faced and board-marked concrete, natural timber finishes, welded aluminium balustrades, and polished brass detailing. Together, these elements form a finely detailed, high-performance office environment that delivers both function and architectural character.

The result is a distinctive fusion of heritage and modernity—honouring the Exchange’s 200-year history while providing a contemporary and collaborative workspace for its future.
