Forensic Science Laboratory

The new FSI Laboratory in Kildare was commissioned to replace the existing premises in the Phoenix Park. The challenge was to provide a facility to such a standard of excellence that it would have the capability of becoming a world leading facility in Forensic Science. The site chosen was a green field site on the states, Backweston Campus in Co Kildare. The floor area of circa 10,000m2 comprises bespoke laboratories, cleanrooms , offices, plant rooms plus ancillary plant areas are all necessary to support the critical work of Forensic Science Ireland.

There was also an extensive external works & landscaping package as part of the development.

A Testing and Commissioning period followed the completion of works to ensure that the building would stand up to international auditing and compliance prior to commencement of laboratory operations.
