Medical Residential Treatment and Recovery Centre at Dublin Simon Community

We are proud to have completed works on the new state-of-the-art Medical Residential Treatment and Recovery Centre for the Dublin Simon Community. Located at Usher’s Island in Dublin, this purpose-built facility provides 100 beds and specialized services to address the complex medical and recovery needs of people experiencing homelessness.

Delivered at a cost of €25 million over a construction period of 28 months, the project involved the creation of a six-story extension to an existing facility. This extension features modern amenities such as gymnasiums, meeting and counseling rooms, and semi-acute medical spaces, all designed to support critical services including detoxification, rehabilitation, and care for blood-borne viruses.

Design & Infrastructure:
The facility has been designed to provide an optimal healing environment while meeting stringent modern healthcare standards. Its thoughtful layout and advanced construction ensure that both patients and staff benefit from enhanced functionality and comfort. The integration of specialised treatment spaces with supportive communal areas reflects a commitment to sustainable, community-focused design.

Outcome & Impact:
Operated by the Dublin Simon Community and partly funded by the Department of Housing, the completed centre stands as a transformative addition to Dublin’s healthcare infrastructure.
