This project which involved a number of phases consisted of a new bedroom block (32 no.) new atrium, new conference and function facilities for 500, new bars and restaurant etc.
Structures were part two storeys and part single of precast on loadbearing blockwork and steel. Finishes externally were of forticrete blockwork, plastering with extensive glazing. Finishes internally included the full fit-out of the bedroom block, atrium, function rooms and bars.
An additional phase of the redevelopment of the hotel involved the complete demolition of an existing bedroom block, and construction of a new, four- storey over part basement, bedroom block. The main structure of the building consists of an external and internal pre-cast wall system, pre-cast floors and bathroom pods. This new block comprises of 58 no bedrooms and two numbers suits, along with new utility connections and associated siteworks.
The leisure centre work consisted of the refurbishment of the existing changing rooms and reception area and a new gym and beauty area.
The existing hotel remained in operation during the construction works.
